Calling all fitspo peeps! A bunch of celeb trainers are coming to Melbourne for the Fitness Show – and they want to train you.

Formerly the Fitness & Health Expo, the Fitness Show will target various areas of fitness including:

  • ACTIVE: for those interested in leading a healthy and active lifestyle;
  • STRENGTH: for bodybuilding and strength training enthusiasts
  • INDUSTRY: for those in the fitness and health industry interested in discovering new products and trends

But it’s the big names which have us the most excited. Head to the arena on various days and you can train with some of the best in the biz.

How I’m building my lower body! ‼️ NO it’s not a low calorie diet or 30 day squat challenge…🙅🏼 – 1️⃣EAT TO GAIN MUSCLE: Your glutes are muscles and in order to build a good amount of muscle you need to ensure you are eating in a calorie surplus. I only started to get the best results when I increased my calories!! Don’t be scared of eating carbs. Carbs don’t make you’s the excess calories that do. I eat over 200g carbs on my leg days with a majority being pre and post workout. – 2️⃣TRAIN TO GAIN MUSCLE: I’m currently training my lower body 4x per week. Now this volume and frequency isn’t for everyone but if you do want a specific muscle to grow you need to pay more attention to it. I recommend hitting lower body 2-3 times per week! I use a variety of methods to keep my lower body guessing. I focus a lot on strength and bringing up my compound lifts, but I also incorporate a lot of isolation work…with cables, bands etc. Sorry girls but if you want to build muscle you need to spend your time in the weights room!!!!!! You will not build your lower body on the treadmill!!!! – 3️⃣CONSISTENCY: Building muscle takes time…it’s not just an overnight process. You need to be consistent with your eating and training specific to the goal of building muscle. The key to long term progress is patience and consistency. For those looking to rejig their diet, there will also be a Healthy Living Stage, where the likes of Natural Nutritionist Steph Lowe and Amy Giannotti will be shedding light on nutrition and meal planning.

Then there’s Muscle Beach – a new addition to the Show this year. No word on whether there will be actual sand, but a Venice Beach-style fully equipped gym will be on hand, as will some of the top names in bodybuilding, including: Jeff Seid, Calum von Moger, Lauren Simpson, Zac Perna, Rachel Dillon, Robbie Frame and Rosanna Arkle.

If you’re into competing, the Jaybird Muscle & Model Stage will feature the iCompete Natural Pro Night of Champions.

According to the organisers, it will be Australia’s first Pro Show and will offer a prize pool of $50,000 split across seven divisions.

There will also be a Powerlifting championship – featuring the strongest men and women in the country tackling all-time
