Hey yogis, Yoga Design Lab is bringing their funky designs to Melbourne, putting you at the top of the style list in your next chill out session.
- Yoga Design Lab
Described by Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue as ‘stunning works of art’, Yoga Design Lab is now delivering to our shores.
So what’s the big deal? Well, with mats, towels, straps, blocks and sprays featuring eye-catching designs, their products basically keep you looking styling while you get your zen on.
What is it?
Yoga Design Lab’s yoga mats are comprised of biodegradable natural tree rubber, and feature water-based inks on printed towel designs, purifying and essential oil mat sprays.
Why do we love it?
Look, we’re suckers for design here at Melbourne Lyf. And the Yoga Design Lab mat we tried out was all kinds of beautiful. Ok, so the mat itself was a little on the heavy side, but it more than made up for it with comfort. The surface of the mat feels great and also has extra gripping power for those sweaty sessions (work it, work it!). Plus, we looked awesome ripping some epic warrior poses, if we don’t say so ourselves.
About Yoga Design Lab
In 2014, Canadian surfer/yogi, Chad Turner, sold everything he had, packed his bags and moved to Bali, driven by the idea to create a highly functional as well as aesthetically beautiful yoga mat.
“I was seated in the back of a packed yoga class while on vacation in Ubud, Bali. Looking around, all I saw was a sea of unoriginal, massed produced, solid colored mats,” Turner says.
“My thinking was that there must be a way of creating a highly functional product that was also aesthetically beautiful. So the journey began.
“Long story short, I sold my stuff, packed up a couple bags and moved to Bali with the goal of creating a stunning line of yoga products that inspire more people to get excited about yoga.”
Blending fashion-forward design elements with functionality and bio-renewables, is key to the Yoga Design Lab approach; and now they are ready to find a home in yoga studios across Melbourne.
“It’s always been a goal of mine to launch Yoga Design Lab in Australia. I love the sense of style throughout Aussie life. Combining that with the country’s rapidly growing yoga and health/wellness scene, inspires us to really dedicate ourselves to growing the YDL brand in this beautiful place.”
